Miles Kane - Inhaler need to finish.

Miles Kane – Inhaler

This is in a similar layout to that of the Nicki Minaj advertisement, it is situated at the bottom left of the page, however this one is even smaller than the Minaj one, this could be due to Miles Kane not being particularly well known therefore they have a much tighter budget than say an internationally known star such as Minaj.

Unlike the Minaj advertisement, this one uses a much stronger colour than the faint pink, this uses a bright red which is used well on this boring white page, it is very eye catching in the corner diverting your eyes to it as the first thing you see on the page.

The advertisement appears to be very basic, in font and imagery, we don’t have a ton of lines rushing across the screen unlike the Minaj one, this has the title in a fairly large font at the top right of the advertisement, the lettering is in white to contrast against the red background.

For my advertisement I have decided to keep the article small, in my opinion this is the best kind of advertisement , I will get to experiment with getting the advertisement noticed similar to other advertisements I have analysed which make good use of the space they are given. I have looked at a number of different sizes for my advertisement and conclude that the smaller one would be better. I plan to use the design on the front of the album in the advertisement, this is a common convention when advertising a album so that the audience recognise the album and artist when they go out to buy it.

Nicki Minaj Magazine Advertisement SCAN IN IMAGE.

Advertisement 2

Here is an advertisement for Nicki Minaj, unlike most advertisements this one only takes up a small space at the bottom of the page. Another interesting thing about the advertisement is that it is a landscape as well as quite small, however due to its content it stands out well on the page. Sitting just under the main picture of the article.

The advertisement sticks with a similar colour scheme throughout the whole thing, Nicki Minaj is represented as quite a Barbie like figure, to match this title the colour scheme is pink, a traditional girlie colour. The colour scheme also goes with the album name ‘Pink’, this is also written in quite a bubbly- girly type.

Nicki Minaj is represented as pop artist, in the sense of her in fashion clothing, her hair and then she is represented to be quite seductive with her pouting lips and long shimmering legs.

Minaj is known for working with famous and popular stars, so the audience expect to have similar type of tracks to that of what she has already released. The audience expects her chart toppers. This is also backed up with how it is mentioned in the advertisement that she has worked with Eminem,Drake,WILL.I.AM and Rhianna.

The words Nicki Minaj stretch across the top of the advertisement in a black font which stands out against the pale pink background, the type also seems to be radiating a pink glow around it, a stronger pink than that of the background.

The date is, strangely, the same size as the words Nicki Minaj which sandwich the small album title ‘Pink Friday’, which doesn’t even seem to stand out very well, using white against the pale background.

The advertisement also uses a quote by successful musician Kanye West, he states that Nicki Minaj is the ‘scariest artist on the planet right now’ which makes people thing, I wonder why he said that which inspires them to go download the album or go to the store and purchase it.

The advertisement also mentions were you can purchase the album from, various known places such as HMV. The advertisements also names the website in which you can find out more about the album, the website will probably contain information about the album and free giveaways.

Fonts

I have been looking at various fonts for my album cover, I don’t want to use a font which is curvy and perhaps even pleasant. Instead I want something like we used to vacation, that solid block font, if I am to be taking inspiration from it I feel I should follow it closely with font as well as imagery for the same effect.
